Diabetes

Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disease that is a result of absolute or relative insulin deficiency or insulin resistance. It is a global health issue that affects people of all ages but is often left undiagnosed and neglected. Long-term complications of the disease are highly preventable with early diagnosis, treatment, and management. Diabetes is seen as the sixth leading cause of death in Nigeria and is projected to double in prevalence by 2030

Diabetic patients express symptoms such as:

  • Weight Loss
  • Increased frequency of urination
  • Increased hunger and thirst
  • Fatigue
  • Blurry vision
